However, somebody told me that they were far better quality than they used to be and, this boiler came with a 10 year guarantee, providing that the filter was installed and it is serviced annually.

That is only valid when the boiler runs at full power. If the boiler runs at part load, which it does most of the time, then the efficiency drops. And if a gas boiler is used solely for hot water in the summer, foe example, then the gas costs are higher than for an electric immersion heater. The boiler needs servicing.

I live in a 2 bedroom flat private rented the boiler recently broke which led to me having no heating so I told the landlord that it broke the landlord sent a gas bloke out to see if he could fix it and apparently he can't fix it till 8 weeks time she gave me 1 electric heater I also have a 3 year old boy living with me surly that isn't right
